More Information Coming Soon! |
Earth Day Weekend April 23-25, 2010Welcome to GaiaFest 2010, a family-friendly event created to allow the whole community to celebrate the divinity of the feminine. Come play, learn and honor the Goddess and the divine spark within each of us. Come spend the weekend on a beautiful creek with sparkling waterfall on secluded acreage near Austin, Texas.
Each year in the Texas Hill Country, we gather together as a community of girls, boys, men and women to celebrate and honor our connection to Gaia, all sentient beings, the Goddess and each other. Join us for a fun and empowering weekend filled with drumming, dancing, hiking, swimming, workshops, rituals, temple building and communion with Gaia. Meet new friends at the Friday night's opening festivities, laugh yourselves silly at the Saturday night talent show and dance around the fire as we celebrate the turning of the wheel. Pitch your tent next to a beautiful limestone bluff, gaze at the emerald-green creek and surround yourself with a community of love and immerse yourself in the sacred on this lovely, secluded land.
The Inclusion of Our FamiliesFor many years we have gathered together to celebrate and honor the many faces of the Goddess. We came together in the wild . . . maidens, mothers and crones . . . as women have since the beginning of herstory. We met new friends and expanded our spiritual "families." We played and laughed and danced together. We sang to the Goddess and howled at the moon. We were educated in the ways of our grandmothers and explored our women's mysteries. We stepped into our power, reclaiming our voices and our bodies. We reveled in the great divine nature of our sacred selves and our sisters. And we practiced our ritual and leadership skills, learning to work with one another, equally, in a new paradigm. We worked, we learned and we grew . . . then we began to hear a call.
We shared our paradigm of love and trust with our community at large, and created a new gender-inclusive festival that is safe for families of all persuasions. We welcomed our men and boys into our paradigm, learning to share power in healthier ways while celebrating the Great Mother of us all.
